Technician Champion Pilot | How to Participate <ARCHIVE>

  1. Read the host information
If there is a placement that is of interest to you, please check the available dates and pre-requisite requirements. Please be aware there are only a limited number of opportunities available as part of this pilot. Placement availability cannot be guaranteed, so we recommend getting in touch early, having flexibility on dates, or considering a few different options. We would encourage you to check that your line manager would be happy for you to participate.
  2. Contact the host
You can contact the hosts directly by email. We have drafted some text, below, that you can use in your email.

    Dear [host name]

I am a member of MSD research technical staff and would be interested in the ‘Tech Shadow and Share’ placement you have kindly offered.

I am particularly interested in this placement because...

I would like to enquire if you have any availability, please? If so, my preferred date(s) would be [insert dates here].

    Best wishes,

  3. Once the host replies
If there is availability, please check (if you have not already done so) that your line manager is happy for you to attend. You can share the details on this page to explain how the opportunity can support your professional development. You will be sent a participant agreement, for you and your line manager to review and complete. Once this is completed and returned, the host will confirm your placement and send you any further details required. This will include confirmation of the placement, date, time, duration, any induction requirements, etc.
  4. Have your placement!
If you have any questions during the placement, please contact the host, or for more general questions, you can contact Jenn Allen or Michelle Wilson.

At the end of the pilot, we will contact hosts and ask them to share an evaluation link with you.
