Introducing the Workload Management Programme
POD is excited to announce the launch of a comprehensive two-part programme designed to enhance workload management across the University. This initiative includes the in-person ‘Managing Workload Conversations’ course and an accompanying suite of online resources, the ‘Workload Management Toolkit’.
Developed in partnership with the ongoing People Strategy initiatives and in response to the findings of the Pay and Conditions Review, this programme provides Oxford University employees with the skills, tools, and guidance needed to manage workloads more effectively.
Currently, the programme is available to Professional Services staff, with tailored resources for Academics and Researchers in development through collaboration with the Academic Career and Reward Framework.
Managing Workload Conversations
This immersive 1-day, in-person course equips Professional Services People Managers with practical strategies to confidently lead open and constructive workload discussions. The session focuses on fostering a team culture of wellbeing, balance, and productivity.
By the end of the course, participants will have:
- Identified the signs of overwhelm in themselves and their team members
- Learned strategies to cultivate a supportive and equitable workload culture
- Built confidence in holding honest conversations about workload and wellbeing
- Developed approaches to prioritise and align team workloads with organisational goals
- Created a personalised Action Plan to implement key learnings
